Abstract


The study of production situation and degradation of native and special smell wax gourd variety in Ba Be district, Bac Kan provine have main objectives that are: (1) to assess current situation of production and (2) to study the variesty degradation of the native and special wax gourd. Methods for the study were based on secondary data collected from district and household survey with total survey sample of 200. The results of the study indicated that crop areas increased rapidly during last few years. This native and special smell wax gourd variety has been grown in 16 communes of Ba Be district. However, wax gourd area is still smaller compared to other crops in this district. This native and special smell wax gourd variety was degraded with strong dissociation that caused to decrease crop yield and quality of this crop.
