Abstract

An assessment of the potential for the ecotourism development associated with Duom temple historic site was implemented in Phu luong district, Thai Nguyen province. The method of field survey and using the questionnaire form was used to collect documents and data for the study. The result shown that, in addition to the main area, which is Duom Temple (1500 ha), there are two areas with potential for ecotourism development, which are: Dong Xien cultural village (lake and flower valley) with an area of about 550 hectares in Yen Lac commune and Ha cultural village has an area of 450 hectares in Yen Do commune. Ecotourism development is an opportunity for local people to increase their income, improve their lives, protect the ecological environment and public health and develop sustainably in the future. At the same time, it attracts researchers, students, graduate students, etc to study the cultural values, land and Phu Luong people in the past, present and future.
