Abstract

The demand for power supply reliability of the distribution grid is increasing. Therefore, the paper presents the methods to improve the reliability of distribution grid using equipment such as: using automate devices, SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), disconnectors Switches, Recloser, overhead fault indicator, the open-loop power distribution networks. To calculate the efficiency of using equipment to improve the reliability of the distribution grid, this paper proposes to use PSS (The Power System Simulator) software to calculate the distribution network’s reliability indices according to the IEEE-1366 standard when using different methods to improving reliability. Based on these calculations, a suitable solution can be selected. With the proposed  algorithm, the author calculated the reliability indices of a sample  distribution network  in Thai Nguyen.
