Abstract

In Ky Son district, Hoa Binh province, at the area of Dan Ha ward, from the end of April 2015, the phenomenon of land slump occurred. In order to apply the electrical resistivity method in this field, we solved the forward problem of model similar to the geological properties of the survey area to select the proper array. The processing and analysis of the theoretical and observed data was carried out by RES2DINV. Because the chosen electrode array matched the local earth characteristics, the objects involved in the catastrophic process were clearly reflected in the resistivity distribution sections derived from the solution of the inverse problem. The results of the electrical resistivity exploration have made an important contribution to the assessment of the causes, the mechanism of cracking and land slump, and to the delineation of the potential risk that this phenomenon will occur in the study area.
