Abstract


The investment and support from Son La Province involve many practical mechanisms and policies that helps agricultural cooperatives in Yen Chau district have not only increased quickly in number but also in operation scale. This study was conducted in Yen Chau district of Son La province where cooperatives were established and operated according to the needs of farmers and market. Data was collected from a sampling of 50 agricultural cooperatives. The study results indicated that average total revenue of agricultural cooperatives was 3,183 million VND in 2020; average income of a hired labor working in cooperatives was 5.8 million VND per month. Additionally, development status of agricultural cooperatives was also assessed in terms of quantity, human resources, qualification of directors, and source of capital; thereby proposing some policies implications to improve the quality of agricultural cooperatives and ensure the sustainable development goals in the period of 2022-2025.
