THE ENERGY INTERNET AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The Energy Internet (EI) is considered as a mean of connection between various types of energy and information systems, according to the internet theory. The outstanding benefits of EI has been attracting huge attentions from researchers and professional bodies. This article aims to bring a brief introduction and overview about EI, including its definition, structure, and characteristics. Simultaneously, the effects of the distributed energy sources and energy storage systems, the function of the power routers etc…, and some significant researches about EI from developed countries are clearly mentioned. Some issues related to the future development of EI, which can be expected to broadly impact on the energy market and power supply services, are also addressed in details.
