STUDY ON THE FACTORS AFFECTING THE EXTRACTION OF POLYSACCHARIDE CONTENT FROM RED LINGZHI

Abstract

Ganoderma lucidum is a precious medicine from nature that has been used for thousands of years in health and healing support. Ganoderma lucidum contains many precious compounds, including the polysaccharide compounds that have anti-cancer effects, reduce blood sugar, prevent cell degeneration, set the immune system, detoxify the body. The effects of material size, extraction time and material/solvent ratio on extraction process of polysaccharide content from red lingzhi were studied. Selection of the conditions of the extraction processis water and extraction temperature at 90^oC. The results showed that the concentration of polysaccharide in the red lingzhi was 1.1% compared to the raw material, the material size (0.4 cm), the material/ solvent ratio (1/20), the extraction time (5 hours) for the polysaccharide content of 0.92% and the extraction efficiency is 83.64%.
