Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the composition of pests and spiders in tea ecosystem of Phu Tho. The effect of microbial-organic fertilizer on the number of major pests (tea green leaf hopper and tea thrips) on tea fields was also assessed. Three different treatments were applied: treatment 1 (CT1-control) applied only NPK; treatment 2 (CT2) fertilized 70% of NPK and added 30% of microbial-organic fertilizer; treatment 3 (CT3) fertilized with 100% NPK and supplemented with 30% of microbial-organic fertilizer. The results show that there is a diversity of pests and spiders. Applying microbial-organic fertilizer affected the number of tea green leaf hopper and tea thrips. Using fertilizer as treatment 3 (CT3) resulted in lower number of tea green leaf hopper and tea thrips than control.
