Abstract

This study describes some clinical features, macroscopic images and  histopathological characteristics of gastric adenocarcinoma tumors. The study subjects included  150 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma operated at Hanoi K hospital using a cross-sectional descriptive study method. The results revealed that the rate of stomach cancer is highest in the age group 60-69, male/female ratio: 1.94/1. The most common systemic and functional symptoms were epigastric pain (99.3%). Ulcerative lession was 53.3%, followed by polypoid (36%), polyps (2.7%), and infiltrates (8%). According to Lauren classification, intestinal type accounted for 72.7%, diffuse type was 22.7% and mixed type was 4.7%. According to WHO, 58.7% of cases are tubular adenocarcinoma, signet ring cell carcinoma was 22.7%, mucinous adenocarcinoma was 12%, mixed carcinoma was 4.7% and papillary adenocarcinoma was 2%. In terms of differentiation, 19.3% of cases was well differentiated, moderately differentiated was 37.3%, and poorly differentiated was 43.3%. All most patients (98.7%) were diagnosed and undergoing surgery at an advanced stage (stage II to stage IV).
