Abstract


Output characteristic of the photovoltaic (PV) panel is dependent on the solar insolation, which is an intermittent factor due to the condition of climate and geology. The research in the PV application requires the timely verification of the system operation in various conditions. To attain such demand, the development of photovoltaic emulator has been required and received much attention, especially in the laboratory. The paper introduces an application of DC-DC boost converter in the emulator of photovoltaic panel. The output voltage is controlled to adjust the output power of PV panel. Simulation in Malab/Simulink software provides the robust response of output voltage with respect to the intermittent reference that confirm the operation of the proposed PV emulator.
