DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY TOURISM TO BECOME SUSTAINABLE LIVING FOR THE LU ETHNIC IN BAN HON (TAM DUONG – LAI CHAU)

As one of the 16 ethnic groups, under 10,000 people, the Lu ethnic is currently only 5,601 people (according to General census and Housing in 2009). They are concentrated in Phong Tho and in Sin Ho district, Lai Chau province, including Ban Hon village (Tam Duong-Lai Chau). In addition to the traditional economic activity as the eater, textile and hunting, the hunter,… today of the Lu ethnic has a new livelihood, it is a community tourism. Ban Hon village is not only attractive tourists because of the beautiful landscape but also all the traditional cultural values. They are still preserved, conferred as a lively museum. The Lu ethnic has known to export cultural value on-premises by "community tourism" tool to improve and enhance the quality of life and sustainable poverty.
