Abstract


Objective: Development and optimization of the extraction procedure for Coscinium fenestratum Colebr. at laboratory

Methods: Intelligent softwares were applied in the extraction procedure. This process was developed through steps: experimental design using Modde  software, cause-effect study using FormRules software and optimization using INForm intelligent software and experimental observation.

Results: Data analysis showed that the amount and concentration of berberin were affected by three factors including calci hydroxyd  concentration, material-solvent ratio and extraction times.

Conclusions: The optimized extraction parameters were determined as calci hydroxyd concentration (4.2%), material- solvent ratio 1/8 and extraction times (11.6 hours).
