Abstract
Fallopia multiflora (Thumb.) Haraldson Syn. Polygonum multiflorum Thumb., Polygonaceae is a precious medicine used for a long time in Viet Nam. The use of other species’s roots to replace this species will reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. The study distinguished four samples “Ha thu o đo” by sensory and microscopic methods for rapid screening of this drug. Sensory characteristics can be based on the surface and wood core, the microscopic characteristics may rely on calcium oxalate crystals to distinguish the sample.
