THE STATUS OF PERIODONTAL DISEASE OF SAN DIU ELDERLY PEOPLE LIVING IN DONG HY, THAI NGUYEN

Abstract

This cross - sectional study was conducted to describe the status of Periodontal Disease of San Diu elderly people living in Dong Hy Thai Nguyen in 2015.  Results showed that the subjects had an average age of 68.26 years (SD = 6.948). In this study, 61.4% of the participants are females and 38.6% of them are males. The percentage of the elderly with poor level of gums is 90.6%. The percentage of elderly with oral hygiene index is low at 95.1%. The prevalence of periodontitis among the elderly in the study area was 100%. Of which, CPI 2 was 5.7%; CPI 3 was 74.6%; CPI 4 was 19.7%;
