Abstract


The aim of the study was to determine the ability to inhibit Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) in a petri dish and affects the germination of rice seeds by extract of Ageratum conyzoides L.. The antibacterial assay was determined by well diffusion method on Wakimoto media with 5 replications. The results showed that the antibacterial ability of the treatments was not different compared to the control (steriled water) with an inhibitory zone from 0 to 0.75 mm after 96 hours after inoculation. Therefore, different concentrations of plant extraction from A. conyzoides L. were considered to have no direct antibacterial effect against Xoo. Evaluated rice seed germinate ability by extraction of A. conyzoides L. showed that the extract treatment had the same length of chlorophyll as the control treatment (steriled water) at 48, 72 and 96 hours after inoculation. Regarding the length of roots, all treatments were the same as the control treatments at 72 and 96 hours after inoculation. Therefore, it can be concluded that soaking A. conyzoides L. extract at different concentrations was not affect the germination of rice seeds. Furthermore, 2% concentration of A. conyzoides extraction applied the soaking seed or combination between 25 DAS AND 35 DAS gave lesion length reduction at 7 days after inoculation.
