Abstract


Teaching is considered as the most basic road to achieve the goal of holistic education process in which self-study is one of the most important tasks in education, especially, higher education. Degree No.29 NQ/TW dated on 4th of November, 2013 has shown that higher education needs to focus on training labor force with high qualification, developing smart students with qualities, self-studying ability, self-enriching knowledge and creativity. However, a large number of students depends much on aborbing information. Hence, with the aim of exploring self-studying task of boarding students at School of Foreign Languages, Thai Nguyen University, the research team has studied and surveyed the reality of this issue. Since then, several basic self-studying skills would be assessed and proposed to improve the effectiveness of boarding students at School of Foreign Languages, Thai Nguyen University.
