Abstract

Currently, the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching is an inevitable and necessary trend. ICT supports educators in implementing digital transformation in the field of education, improving teaching methods, teaching forms, and assessment to build an intelligent educational ecosystem. This study presents the development and use of digital learning materials in teaching the topic "Hydrocarbon" to develop students' self-learning capacity. The author has researched the theoretical foundation of the self-learning capacity framework, self-learning capacity assessment tools, the process of constructing multiple-choice questions, and experimental videos. The Isring Suite software was used to digitize learning materials and upload them to the website: http://nghiepvusupham.com to facilitate teachers and students in accessing information. We conducted pedagogical experiments on two classes at Vietnam - Poland High School and Nguyen Quoc Trinh High School in Hanoi. The results of the pedagogical experiment showed that the scores of self-learning capacity based on students' self-assessment sheets increased between before and after the experiment. Most students liked using the designed digital learning materials, felt they made progress, became more proficient in performing learning tasks, and wished to continue using digital materials in other lessons of the high school chemistry curriculum.
