Abstract

The trend of education towards developing learners' competence has been applied in Vietnam and many countries around the world. In this trend, learners actively apply their acquired knowledge to solve problems in real life. The article indicated that experimental practice activities at universities help develop students' scientific research competence. The authors has summarized the general characteristics of experimental pratical activities, proposed and applied the process of developing the lesson topic: "Quantification of anthocyanins in Ruellia simplex’s flowers" in the module Practical Analytical Chemistry to develope scientific research competence for students at Can Tho University of Technology. The results of the pedagogical experiment showed that the scientific research competence of students has improved significantly after the experiment. This result can be applied to other experimental courses such as General Chemistry Practice, Food Chemistry Practice, ... at technical universities in the Mekong Delta and the whole country.
