Abstract


The use of smartphones is a common issue and a powerful tool for learning and living for students. However, how to manage and use the phones effectively in learning for lower secondary school students? And what orientation for them to use these tools for learning, approaching the good and eliminating the bad, and not taking up much of their time and their development. A survey has been done with the participants of 149 students of lower secondary schools in Thai Nguyen city, Thai Nguyen province to see the extent of their phone use as well as the effects of smartphones on students’ learning and daily life activities. The research has shown the impact of smart phones on current lower secondary students. Also, these impacts have changed their perception, attitude, and behavior on the use of these modern tools. Therefore, solutions to managing the use of smartphones by students are suggested for better use of these tools.
