ENHANCING THE PROPORTION OF FEMALE IN PEOPLE’S ELECTED BODIES

Abstract

Paying attention to women and supporting them in the participation of National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels is crucially contributing to the gender equality promotion for the advancement of women. This is also an important and necessary measure in order to assess the socio-economic development of each country. However, the women's participation in politics in general and in people’s elected bodies in particular is still facing a lot of difficulties and challenges. This paper aims at studying and proposing some solutions to increase the participation of women in the political sphere, especially in the system of people’s elected bodies.
