Abstract

Hesperidin, a bioflavonoid predominantly found in Citrus fruits, is used as a marker to standardize the quality of the Anngon-Fus syrup. This formula primarily consists of two medicinal materials from the Citrus genus, namely Pericarpium Citri reticulatae and Fructus Aurantii immaturus. An HPLC method was developed and validated for this purpose. The analysis was conducted on an HPLC system using an Agilent C18 (250 × 4.6 mm; 5 μm) with acetonitrile: water (30:70 v/v) serving as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The injection volume was set at 10 μL, and detection was performed at 284 nm using a DAD detector. The method was validated for suitability, linearity, accuracy, precision, detection limit and quantitation limit in accordance with ICH, AOAC guidelines. The study results indicated a strong correlation coefficient (R=0,9999) in linear regression and a recovery rate of 98.32 - 99.18% for hesperidin. Therefore, this method provides an accurate, rapid, simple, and effective tool for the quantitative analysis of hesperidin in Anngon-Fus syrup and other preparations containing Citrus fruit extracts.
