Cinnamon has been considered to be a strategic tree in socio-economic development of the Van Yen district for many years. The development of linkages between actors in the cinnamon value chain is significant to expand market of cinnamon products, create employment and improve income for local people, particularly for ethnic minorities. Every year, actors of the cinnamon value chain create hundreds of employments for ethnic minorities with an average monthly income of millions dong. The district has a potential to develop the cinnamon tree and its products. In addition, the expansion and involvement of different actors in the value chain will create a high demand for employment and contribute to reduce poverty.
