Abstract

Determining factors affecting the productivity of breeding stock is very important for proposing scientific and technological solutions to improve their production. The purpose of this study is to study and analyze some factors affecting the production capacity of 3 pig breeds Duroc, Piétrain, Landrace and some hybrid combinations between them to serve as a basis for selecting the best final hybrid combination. The study was carried out on 767 purebred pigs of 3 breeds Duroc, Piétrain, Landrace and 528 variants of their crosses with the following traits: Weight gain, back fat thickening, feed consumption, lean percentage and  influencing factors: Breeding facility, sex, season, breed. Research results show that factors: Breeding facilities, sex and breeds have a significant effect on weight gain, back fat thickness and feed consumption with a confidence level of P from 0.05 to 0.001 but no effect on the lean ratio; Meanwhile, the seasonal factor has no or little effect on the traits (ns or P<0.05). Research results on the influence of gender on the productivity of hybrid combinations show that: Males have higher growth ability than females, have thicker back fat and lower food consumption than females (with P<0.05); On the contrary, the lean ratio between males and females did not have a clear difference (P>0.05).
