Abstract

Polycrystalline Pr0,7Ca0,3-xSrxMnO3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.3) with orthorhombic structure were synthesized by solid-state reaction method. The temperature dependence of magnetization was measured from 100 K to 300 K under different applied fields. We pointed out that Pr0.7Ca0.3-xSrxMnO3 compounds exhibitting the ferromagnetic property at low temperature and the paramagnetic behaviors at high temperature region. The Curie temperature TC was increased from 132 to 268 K with increasing Sr content from 0 to 0.3, respectively. A large magnetocaloric effect near room temperature has been observed. Under an applied magnetic field of 10 kOe, the values of maximum magnetic entropy change (|ΔSmax|) and relative cooling power (RCP) are about 3.44 J/kgK and 61.6 J/kg, respectively.
