SURVEY OF THE SITUATION OF USE OF ANTIBIOTICS TO TREAT COMMUNITY PNEUMONIA IN PATIENTS WITH SMALL CANCER LEVELS AT NGHE AN ONCOLOGY HOSPITAL

Abstract

We conducted a survey on the use of antibiotics in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia in non-small cell lung cancer patients. The cross-sectional study involved 104 non-small cell lung cancer patients diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia from December 2022 to February 2023 at Nghe An Cancer Hospital. It was found that 80.77% of patients used antibiotics at home before being hospitalized. All patients used antibiotics upon admission: 55.77% were prescribed a single-agent regimen, 36.54% were prescribed a combination of two antibiotics, and 7.69% were prescribed a combination of three antibiotics from the beginning. In the single-agent regimen, the most commonly used antibiotic was combikit (Ticarcillin and Clavulanic Acid), accounting for 41.37%. Of the prescriptions, 92.31% were given appropriate antibiotic doses. The appropriate duration of antibiotic use was 91.35%. The rate of drug non-interaction was 94.23%; 4.81% had moderate interactions, and 0.96% had severe interactions. Successful treatment accounted for 91.35%.
