DESIGN AND REALIZE EXPERIMENTAL DEVICE FOR AGRICULTURAL STALK CHOPPING

Shortening agricultural residuals into different sizes is an important pre-process to make animal food and biomass. Reducing shearing force is one of the most effective way to save energy in such process. This paper presents design principles, manufacturing and practical tests to evaluate an experimental chopping device with the aim of energy consumption saving. The realized device provided abilities to easily control four input parameters as well as to accurately acquize three output factors, which are useful to solve the problem of energy saving optimization. The results are promising for practical applying in comercial chopping machines as well as for experimental studies.
