SOME EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF TRICHOSTRONGYLIDOSIS IN BUFFALOES, BOVINES AT LANG SON PROVINCE AND ITS TREATMENT

There was studied on some epidemiological characteristics of Trichostrongylidosis in buffaloes and bovines at Lang Son province, the results showed that: the prevalence of Trichostrongylidosis in buffaloes was 72.46%, in bovines was 69.62%, variation from 69.95% to 75.00% (in buffaloes) and from 64.53% to 76.55% (in bovines). Buffaloes and bovines were mainly infected in mild and moderate infection intensity. The rate of stable flooring and surface soil samples in the area around stables infected with Trichostrongylus’s eggs and larvae was relativelyhigh (30.67% and 23.67%). In grazing pasture, there were found to be contaminated with Trichostrongylus’s eggs and larvae, the rate of positive samples collected from surface soil was 19.67%, muddy samples were 14.67%, pasture samples were 9.33%. Three treating medicines albendazol 7.5 mg/ kg corporal weight, ivermectin 1 ml/ 12 kg corporal weight, levamisole 1 ml/ 10 kg corporal weight were used to treat Trichostrongylidosis in buffaloes and bovines, reached 100% of effectiveness and absoluted effectiveness was over 88%. In these, the levamisole was the medicine that had the highest effective medicine was 95.55% in buffaloes and 91.17% in bovines.
