Mythimna loreyi (Duponchel,1827) was studied in the laboratory at average temperature 23.20˚C and average humidity 86.90 % to observe the biology.
M.loreyi completes its life cycle in from 33.17±1.1 days. The females laid on an average 181.5 eggs/female and the hatchling rate was 79.25%. The feminine ratio of M.loreyi was 88.80%.The sex ratio of M.loreyi male/female was 1.0:2.43 at the laboratory.
M. loreyi have damage a lot of corn plants which it have 4 to 6 leaves until the corn popped corn and corn spray. The first instar larvae have eaten young leaves, male flowers. The large larvae have gnaw the leaves, all the young body of plant, go into the corn seedling. Young larvae have usually active at night, in the day lurking in the leaves, leafy leaves.
