RESEARCHING FACTORS AFFECTING DONG THAP UNIVERSITY’S ECONOMIC STUDENTS ON SPENDING FOR STUDYING PURPOSES

Abstract


The article focuses on determining the factors affecting students’ spending in the Economics Department at Dong Thap University. In this study, the sampling method was stratified random sampling based on objective criteria. With the sampling, the investigation directly surveyed 305 students in the Economics Department from the first to fourth year, majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, and Banking. Then, the study used descriptive statistical methods combined with regression analysis to determine the influential factors. The research results indicate that nine factors had a positive effect on the spending of students in the Economics Department at Dong Thap University, including Gender, Staying with family/relatives, Spending plan, Part-time job, Guidance on spending from Family, Number of times participating in classes on financial management skills, Accounting, Business Administration, and Income of students. Researching to determine the factors affecting students' spending on study is also the basis for helping students have a reasonable spending plan, thereby resulting in better study results.
