Abstract


Culture is an important factor in foreign language teaching. Integrating culture into foreign language instruction is one of the methods to help learners develop their language proficiency. This article aims to study the effectiveness of the language-culture model in teaching Vietnamese to international students at University of Education - Thai Nguyen University through specific activities to assist foreign learners in effectively studying Vietnamese. In foreign language education, there have been various models that integrate culture and have proven effective. In Vietnam, the use of the language-culture model in teaching Vietnamese to foreigners has also been noticed, and initial implementation has yielded notable results. This article employs a theoretical research method about the integrated language-culture teaching model and applies this theory to create various teaching scenarios for teaching Vietnamese in Vietnam. The results indicate the effectiveness of the integrated language-culture model, which is demonstrated through cultural experience activities, participation in festivals, and theatrical performances. These are clear manifestations of the advantages of the language-culture model, a model that offers numerous benefits for teaching Vietnamese in Vietnam.
