Abstract

This paper investigates the integration of education for sustainable development through the STSE model in school subjects and educational activities in secondary schools. The purpose of the study is to explore how the STSE model can be applied to promote sustainable development, while identifying the challenges and opportunities of implementing this model in educational practice. The research method employs a literature review and theoretical development to analyze related studies, from which effective approaches and processes for integrating sustainable development into teaching are proposed. The study's findings indicate that the STSE model helps connect the elements of science, technology, society, and environment, thereby enhancing students' awareness and capacity to act on sustainable development issues. The research also identifies several challenges in implementing the STSE model, particularly the coordination between subjects and the need for teacher training. In conclusion, integrating sustainable development through the STSE model can lead to long-term effectiveness in developing a sustainable education system, encouraging students to engage in actions that address global issues.
