Abstract

Although the wastewater treatment plant of Ba Vi Dairy Factory with a capacity of 450 m3/day and night has been operating stably, it has approached the design limit, the receiving ditch is under pressure from many sources of discharge that have not been thoroughly treated. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the quality of wastewater after treatment and the load capacity of the receiving ditch, proposing suitable solutions such as increasing capacity, renovating the biological tank and adding filter columns for reuse. The research uses methods of collecting, analyzing, evaluating load capacity and processing data. The results show that the receiving ditch no longer meets the parameters such as NH4+, total nitrogen and has organic pollution. The renovation and addition of equipment helps increase the treatment efficiency by 4-16%. Based on the usage needs, it is proposed to install a filter cluster with a capacity of 50 m³/day and night for watering plants in the first phase; then add 01 similar filter cluster for factory cleaning, boiler exhaust gas which can supply with a total volume of recycled wastewater of about 100 m3/day and night. The recycling and reuse of wastewater meets the criteria of the Law on Environmental Protection and Decree 08/2022/ND-CP. The findings of this study serve as a scientific basis for developing enhanced wastewater treatment strategies in the food industry and promoting the transition toward a circular economy model.
