LIVELIHOOD OF FARM HOUSEHOLDS IN TUC TRANH COMMUNE, PHU LUONG DISTRICT, THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

The study aimed to assess the situation of livelihood capital sources, livelihood vulnerability, thereby suggesting solutions to improve the livelihood of farm households in Tuc Tranh commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province. The sustainable livelihood framework analysis method and the household vulnerability assessment method were used. The results show that livelihood of farm households in Tuc Tranh commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province are diversified and abundant, especially natural capital and social capital. The results of the adaptive capacity analysis of farm households in Tuc Tranh commune show that the vulnerability index of farm households is 0.59. The study also proposed three groups of solutions to improve the adaptability of three livelihood capital sources, including human capital, financial capital, and physical capital, from which to improve farm livelihoods.
