Abstract


Living standard is the problem which many scientists care because this factor shows the ability of the satisfaction of different human needs. However, in Vietnam today, the living standards of people are different between regions, between urban and rural areas, especially in mountainous areas with many difficulties.  This article focuses on studying the current living standards of 53 ethnic minorities in Vietnam through collecting data from Vietnam Statistical Yearbook, Results of the Vietnam Living Standards Survey, Socio-Economic Situation Survey 53 ethnic minorities in Vietnam. Authors analysis data, synthesis, comparison and proposing solutions to improve this this index. In conlusion, in all the solutions, solutions for human resource development (through promoting education, strengthening vocational training, fostering talents, promoting the role of enterprises) are crucial, considered to be the key of problem.
