DU KE THEATER ARTS OF KHMER PEOPLE IN SOC TRANG PROVINCE - HISTORY AND PROSPECT FOR DEVELOPMENT

Du Ke is one of the traditional theater arts of Khmer people in the Southern Vietnam. This article will outline the history of birth and development of Du Ke, thereby clarifying its birthplace in Soc Trang; explore the values and development prospects of this intangible cultural heritage. The results are obtained by summarizing articles about Du Ke in magazines, validated scientific subjects, guiding documents, etc. The results of this study will help to better illustrate the Du Ke and confirm its important role in the cultural and spiritual life of Soc Trang Khmer in particular and Khmer people in the Southern in general. From there, there is a plan to preserve and promote the art of the Du Ke which can become a national intangible cultural heritage in the future.
