Abstract
Northern Vietnam is a unique geographical region with more than 30 ethnic groups. In recent years, climate change has been strongly affecting the lives of ethnic minorities. This paper aims to analyze indigenous knowledge of ethnic minorities living in climate change response. The results are obtained by summarizing articles on climate change and indigenous knowledge of ethnic groups in books and newspapers; combined with actual data and survey results in some localities. The research results show that the Northern mountainous areas are always heavily affected and suffer the most damage to people and properties due to climate change. Therefore, community-based, exploiting indigenous knowledge in areas such as: Land reclamation, erosion control, landslides; forest protection, exploitation and development; weather forecasting... will be the scientific basis for providing appropriate solutions to mitigate the impacts of climate change. It is necessary to determine the value of indigenous knowledge of ethnic groups and regions in responding to climate change.
