Abstract

Aquaculture Industry of Vietnam has made great strides recently, and Vietnam has become one of the fastest aquacultural growing countries in the world. This industry has made important contributions to socio-economic development. However, the sustainable development of the aquaculture industry in the reservoir area in particular still has many shortcomings and faces a series of challenges. Assessing the sustainability of aquaculture in a specific area is necessary. In this study, through the review of related studies, the author used the Delphi method combined with the Analytic Hierarchy Process-AHP method to propose a system of criteria to assess the level of the sustainability of aquaculture development in hydropower lake area and calculate the weight of criteria. The research results have proposed a system of criteria to evaluate the sustainability of aquaculture in the hydropower reservoir area, 14 indicators, including 4 indicators on economic aspects; 5 indicators on the social aspect and 5 indicators on the environmental aspect.
