Abstract

The Northern Midlands and Mountains of our country are areas prone to natural disasters, especially flash floods and landslides. These natural disasters are unpredictable, affecting socio-economic development and causing serious damage to people and property. Natural factors such as geological structure, topography, weathering, rainfall, vegetation are important factors affecting flash and landslides. In addition, the people's livelihood activities also  affected significantly in this phenomenon. The paper uses methods of field survey, analysis and interpretation of remote sensing images to identify the current situation and causes of flash floods and landslides in the Northern midland and mountainous areas. This is the basis for the construction of measures to prevent and limit the damage caused by flash floods and landslides in the region.
