EFFECT OF SEASON SOWING, SOIL MEDIA AND SEED SOAKING ON GERMINATION RATE AND SEEDLING QUALITY OF Sophora flavescens Ait. IN SA PA – LAO CAI

Sophora flavescens Ait. (Berberidaceae) is a medicinal plant originated in China. The solution from dried roots of S. flavescens can antibacterial and antifungal; it has been used treatment skin infections, arrhythmia and anti-cancer. Currently, S. flavescens material has imported from China; therefore it is necessary for study on propagation and cultivation. The experiments of sowing times, soil media, and seed treatment were conducted follow Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), three times of repeat. The results showed that: that suitable sowing time is August; sowing seed in mixture containing soil + compost (1:1) and soaking seeds in warm water (400C) in 2 hour befor sowing.
