THE IMPACTS OF URBANIZATION ON THE FLUCTUATION OF URBAN LAND USE IN THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

Abstract

Urban land is the main factor affected by urbanization. Under the impact of urbanization, in Thai Nguyen province, the fluctuation of urban land use raises a number of negative socio-economic problems. Using a combination of historical, logical, analytical, general, cartographic, mathematical, etc. methods with secondary data, research shows that urbanization has led to changes in Urban land use over time and space in Thai Nguyen province. Urban land in Thai Nguyen province is the biggest change in the area of non-agricultural land, urban land use structure shifted towards increasing the proportion of non-agricultural land, reducing the proportion of agricultural land. According to space, urban land fluctuations are concentrated in Thai Nguyen City, Song Cong City and the biggest fluctuations are in Pho Yen Town. Based on the analysis of the situation of changes in urban land use under the impact of urbanization, the article proposes a number of reasonable solutions to using urban land to improve the quality of life of people, contributes to the documentation of local geography.
