Abstract


To evaluation of neonatal infection treatment and risk factors related to treatment at The The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Thai Nguyen National Hospital. By using the cross-sectional description method on 74 cases of severe neonatal infection, the results showed that the rate of premature babies was higher than that of full term babies, and the weight of less than 2500 grams was much higher than that of children ≥ 2500 grams. The rate of respiratory infections in the early infections group was higher than those of late infections (p <0.05). The related factors that influence the weight of newborns and the degree of respiratory failure when hospitalized with cured results (p<0.05). However, there was non significant difference in the treatment of early infection compared with the late infection group and the rate of newborn/preterm newborn and cure (p> 0.05). The duration of treatment for early neonatal infections is longer and more difficult than that of the late neonatal infections. The birth weight of newborns and the degree of respiratory distress at admission have an influence on the outcome of treatment.
