A NUMBER OF SIMILARITIES IN THE CHARACTER SYSTEM IN DAT VO HOANG OF MIKHAIL SHOLOKHOV AND BAO BIEN OF CHU VAN

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to point out the most basic similarities of the character system in Dat vo hoang of Mikhail Sholokhov and Bao bien of Chu Van. To achieve the above purpose, the author uses a number of research methods such as surveys, statistics, comparisons - history in which comparison is based on the basic concepts of literary theory. In the process of examining the two works, the author realized that there are similarities in the character system on many aspects: the character system structure, functions and personalization... This can be explained by several reasons: both works have the same method of composition; the historical and socio-political circumstances are similar... The results of this study contribute to affirming the influence of Soviet literature and methods of composing socialist realism on modern Vietnamese literature in a certain period of literary history, which is a comparative and comparative document in the study of literary history and teaching in schools.
