PREVALENCE OF TAPEWORMS IN DOGS IN THAI NGUYEN PROVINCES

To determine the situation of tapeworm infection in dogs in Thai Nguyen provinces, we have applied a non-comprehensive method of surgery to examine 282 dogs raised in districts, city in Thai Nguyen provinces (Phu Binh district, Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen city). Results showed that there were 112/282 dogs infected with tapeworms, accounting for 39,72%, the infection intensity is generally 2 - 116 tapeworms/dog. Examination of feces of 947 dogs in Thai Nguyen provinces, with 364 dogs infected with tapeworms. Results also showed that age of dogs, species, method and veterinary hygiene status in animal husbandry have a clear influence on the prevalence of tapeworms infection in dogs.
