Abstract


The study was conducted with the aim to assess the quality of life of cancer patients in stages III and IV according to the EORTC QLQ - C30 scale scores at Thai Binh General Hospital from 9-12/2019. With the method of cross-sectional description, the study interviewed 48 patients of stage III and IV directly undergoing treatment at the Department of Palliative Pain Prevention, Oncology Center, Thai Binh General Hospital. The study results showed that: The average age of the subjects was 65.25 ± 10.27, of which 83.3% were male; 64.6% of stage III; 35.4% in stage IV; the average Global health status score is 50.9± 19.2; The average score of the patient's Physical functioning and Role functioning is lower than their Emotional functioning and Cognitive functioning. There is a difference in Global health status score between patients under 65 and those aged 65 and older. The mean score for pain and fatigue is higher in patients with stage IV, the mean score for pain was higher in patients with metastases. Since then, in order to improve the quality of life of the patient, it is necessary to continue improving the condition of pain and fatigue for the patient during treatment.
