Abstract
Marxism - Leninism is a system of scientific thought and the worldview and methodology of the working class. It is a magical “handbook”, a “guideline”, a “sunshine on our way to final victory, to socialism and communism”. Throughout the revolutionary period, our Party has always taken Marxism - Leninism as the foundation of the Party's and the nation's guiding ideology. In this study, we applied the qualitative research and documentary research methods to analyzed the basis and sustainable values of Marxism - Leninism. The results showed that affirm that Marxism - Leninism is the ideological foundation, the guideline for the actions of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the principle of the Party, and was the cause of all the victories of the Vietnamese revolution. Thereby, several principles that need to be thoroughly grasped when applying, supplementing, and developing Marxism - Leninism today were proposed.
