Abstract


The purpose of this study is to examine the human resource management practices at Research. Institutes of Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) in Hanoi, Vietnam in order to gain a better understanding of these activities. The changing orientation of human resource management influences employees’ job requirements. Comparing with the previous period, not all the employees’ job satisfaction can be fulfilled by the financial compensation and benefits. Likewise, the study examined the influences of human resource practices (training and development, performance of appraisal, compensation, benefit, safety and health) toward employees' job satisfaction in the three institutes of MOIT. Data was collected from 285 employees in the three -studied institutes by using the 300-questionnaire survey. To analyze the obtained data, Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) computer software program was used. The results from the collected data were served as the basis for recommending a human resource management system at three research institutes of the MOIT in Hanoi, Vietnam. This findings of this study revealed that: performance appraisal is the most important factor affecting employees’ satisfaction; benefits is the second important factor affecting employees' job satisfaction; training and development is the third important factor affecting employees' job satisfaction; safety and health is the fourth important factor affecting employees' job satisfaction; and compensation is the fifth important factor affecting employees' job satisfaction. Conclusion and recommendations were discussed and limitations of the research are revealed.
