DETERMINANTS OF EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY IN GARMENT INDUSTRY IN HO CHI MINH CITY

The purpose of this study was to determine the factor that affects employee productivity in garment industry. The variables consist product, plant and equipment, technology, materials and energy. Management style, work method, Human resource is stated as independent variables for this study. The finding showed that only one variable which is Product factor that does not have significant relationship. Meanwhile, 6 variables showed positive relationship in employee productivity in Ho Chi Minh garment industry. 389 sets of questionnaires were distributed randomly. The result of the study presented in this research shows that Plant and equipment are highest impact on labor productivity. This study can be seen as a foreword to a more detailed study to be carried by future research on the issue of labor productivity in Viet Nam.
