STRENGTHENING MANAGEMENT OF ODA IRRIGATION PROJECTS IN VIET NAM

Abstract


The paper on evaluation of irrigation management activities is being managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The capital for implementing the project is ODA. The study used both primary and secondary data to assess the management and economic efficiency of the project, evaluate the quality and assess the safety and hygiene of irrigation works. The results show that the management of irrigation projects in Vietnam is low. With 7 major projects, the study has shown that there is optimism among managers in evaluating project quality. Beneficiary farmers underestimate the quality of the projects. They discovered many shortcomings in the management of progress, procurement of materials, the quality of the work is low. The research has identified a number of measures to improve the management of projects being managed by the Ministry of Agriculture.
