HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PRACTICES OF THE COLLEGES IN THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE, VIET NAM

The study was conducted on the human resource management practices of the colleges in Thai Nguyen province. A total of 327 respondents from the colleges in Thai Nguyen province were selected in the study. It specifically explored on the profile of colleges in terms of: historical background, academic programs, human resource inventory ( teaching and non – teaching staff); and the demographic profile of the respondents in term of position, sex, civil status, age group, highest educational attainment, salary per month, and years of service in college. The study was limited to determine the perception of the respondents on human resource management practices of the colleges in Thai Nguyen province which are classified in aspects, namely: human resource planning, recruitment, selection, trainning and development, promotion, retention and maintenance. The researcher floated the questionnaire to the respondents. The study determined process of perception of the Administrators, teaching and non-teaching staff of selected colleges in Thai Nguyen province of Human resource management practices. So there was a significant difference on the perception of the three groups of respondents on the extent of the implementation of the Human resource management practices of the colleges in Thai Nguyen province in terms of: human resource planning, recruitment, selection, tranining and development, performance appraisal and promotion. And there wasn’t significant difference on the perception of three groups of the colleges in Thai Nguyen in terms of retention and maintenance.
