DEMAND OF YOUNG RESIDENTS IN DANANG CITY FOR LOCALITY AND THE NEIGHBORING REGIONS COMMUNITY-BASED TOURISM DESTINATIONS

Abstract


This research aims to find out the demand for community-based tourism of Danang youth residents in the locality and the neighborhood destinations of Danang city. The survey results of 617 people aged 18 to 30 showed that, despite the COVID-19 pandemic affecting all living aspects, young people in Danang city still intend to participate in community-based tourism in the near future. Their main purpose is to experience the culture and lifestyle of the indigenous people. In addition, the study also indicates some behavioral characteristics of young people when take part in community-based tourism, such as organizing the trip, spending time, the expenses, and the requirements regarding accommodation service, food and beverage services, travel activities, and tourism products. Thereby, the study proposes some solutions to improve the quality of services and also developes the tourism products at some community-based tourism destinations in Da Nang city and surrounding areas to satisfy the needs of young residents.
